Example 2. (Small business solution)

A large private dental practice offering Implantology treatment with a registered specialist required a bespoke application to enable them to provide estimates for treatments patients and to ensure a full and accurate log of treatements was kept.
In the main, it was to be used to log patient and treatment details, all the dentist in question had to know was the treatment needed, the pricing structure was built into the code, although the practice principal had to have access to change, add or remove the treatment, pricing structure, dentist names etc and they had to be able to apply discounts in either % or GBP.

Once the dentist had completed the initial treatment plan, this had to be saved automatically for retrieval at a later stage to either commence treatment or make changes to the treatment plan.

Below are some screenshots of the completed design.

The user is first presented with a choice of either creating a new estimate or an estimate retrieval.

This screenshot shows the form that the user has to complete when they have chosen to create a new estimate.

Once the form for creating a new estimate is completed, a summary page is displayed.
This page will include patient and dentist information and also the patient treatment plan including costings.

There is a button at the foot of the page to allow a 'Save & Print'. A copy will be saved (this is the copy that can be retrieved at a later date for changes).

This was a very simple solution, yet to the practice in question it saved them a lot of time and eliminated any human error, therefore saving them money as the exact treatments available and their costs were programmed into the application and could only be amended by the Principal.
